The Komati Basin Water Authority (KOBWA) stands as a unique bi-national company, forged by a 1992 treaty between the Governments of Eswatini and South Africa. Its fundamental mission involves the judicious development and management of water resources across the Komati River Basin. Within Eswatini, KOBWA is instrumental in operating vital infrastructure, notably the prominent Maguga Dam, which underpins significant irrigation and hydropower projects.
