e-Mali Ltd is currently seeking to recruit a competent individual to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer. ROLE OVERVIEW The overall aim of the Chief Executive Officer is to be responsible for defining and implementing the Mobile Financial Services strategic and financial objectives by driving usage penetration and improvement of operational performance to meet consumer satisfaction and the overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial management and performance, ensuring profitability, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.
  • Deliver business goals set by the Executive Committee in accordance with overall company strategy.
  • Set strategic direction to guarantee realization of e-Mali objectives.
  • Manage relationships across functions, with vendors and value chain members and evaluate performance on the basis of SLA’s.
  • Develop and deploy products and service portfolios to induce revenue generating transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Economics or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years’ work experience in the Financial Services sector.
  • Experience in customer data and field visit experience to manage the day-to-day growth of the business.
  • Experience in expanding and managing the distribution of a mass market product or service.
  • Knowledge of risk and regulation of the Mobile Financial Services industry.
  • Ability to establish policies, priorities to manage and evaluate projects.
  • Good understanding of accounting / financial standards and principles and ability to resolve basic financial and accounting problems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local Central Bank rules and regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead and coach a team towards success.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong determination to succeed.
  • Appetite for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to think outside the norm and present new ways of getting things done (innovation).
