Key Responsibilities
- To provide professional support to teachers and head teachers on the best practices of good and effective schools.
- To develop tools for monitoring and evaluation to ensure quality education services.
- To conduct school’s inspection, compiles written reports and forward these to chief, REO, and school concerned.
- To organize workshops and seminars for teachers on curriculum issues and policy.
- To collaborate with the NICE and in service to improve syllabus, develop and introduce new curriculum and materials in primary schools.
- To assess teachers during final teaching inspections.
- To coordinate the development of individual school’s strategic plans.
- To prepare quarterly and annual reports.
- To evaluate status of physical school infrastructure and prepare budgets with improvement plans of action.
- To contribute to the training needs assessment and training plan development of teachers.
- To act as a link between schools, other institutions and the Ministry of Education, coordinates educational activities with other educational partners.
- To advise Headteachers, schools committees and teachers on effective implementation of the school development plan.
- To monitor implementation of educational policies to ensure adherence and compliance.
- To collaborate with Regional Education Officer in the inspection of schools.
- To initiate and conduct educational action research and disseminate information for the purpose of improving teaching standards in schools.
- To coordinate and supervise the delivery and distribution of teaching and learning materials to schools.
- To offer an immediate induction of newly appointed head teacher.
- To perform any other duties assigned.
Requirements
- Must have done and acquired an O Level/IGCSE/IGSE Certificate or equivalent
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Pure Sciences majoring in Biology and Chemistry from a recognized and accredited Institution is a requirement.
- Master’s Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized and accredited Institution will be an added advantage.
- Four (4) years’ work experience in the relevant field is a requirement.
- Computer Literate and Upright Character.
