Key Responsibilities

  • To monitor professional standard in Primary and Secondary Schools
  • To Conduct preliminary recruitment of secondary school inspectors and recommend for recruitment
  • To plan and conduct inspections in secondary and primary schools on relevant subjects and programmes nationally
  • To ensure implementation of secondary education curriculum innovations and reforms align with national aspirations, regional and international education standards
  • To collaborate with partners to initiate and implement interventions for improving subjects and programmes
  • To recommend establishment of new positions to ensure adequate staffing of the Secondary Inspectorate.
  • To participate in staff meetings to discuss administrative and professional issues
  • To formulate speeches for ministry principals
  • To act as Ex-officio member of the national subject association executive committee
  • To supervise school’s administration to ensure adequate staffing of the secondary inspectorate
  • To participate in staff meetings to discuss administrative and professional issues
  • To supervise schools administrative to ensure quality education delivery
  • To conduct research on topical issues to identify gaps and recommend interventions
  • To convene and chair national subject/programme panel and departmental meetings
  • To participate in development of secondary education curriculum innovation and reforms
  • To collaborate with tertiary institutions in developing teaching of subjects and programme areas
  • To develop budgets for activities aligned with the ministerial strategic plan
  • To co-ordinate itineraries and inspections of the Secondary inspectorate cadre
  • To compile departmental reports and participate in development of Ministry’s quarterly performance reports
  • To provide feedback and advice to schools based on inspection findings
  • To lead provisions of student services, including counselling, career guidance, and health services
  • To oversee student admission and enrolment processes
  • To provide strategic interventions for student wellbeing
  • To lead resource mobilization programs and procurement function
  • To maintain college in fracture
  • To lead development and implementation of college strategic plan
  • To ensure implementation of strategic and institutional development programs
  • To ensure proper governance and internal control systems
  • To ensure compliance with national educational regulations and accreditation standards
  • To develop, review and implement institutional policies and procedures
  • To ensure proper stakeholder management and maintain a positive public image
  • To establish collaborative partnerships with industry for internship/apprentice programs
  • To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or the head of department.

Requirements

  • Must have done and acquired an O’Level/IGCSE/IGSE Certificate or equivalent
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Express Arts, Physical Education, Sports/Arts/Drama/Music/Fine Arts/Visual Arts Education/ Arts and Design Education from a recognized and accredited Institution is a requirement.
  • Master’s degree in any of the above field is a requirement.
  • Four (4) years relevant work experience is a requirement.
  • Computer Literate and upright character
