Key Responsibilities
- To supervise the day-to-day operations of the mortuary by ensuring the proper receiving, storage, handling, documentation, and release of deceased persons while maintaining high standards of hygiene, professionalism, and compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Supervise mortuary operations and ensure smooth daily functioning of the department.
- Receive, record, and ensure proper handling and storage of corpses brought to the mortuary.
- Ensure all relevant documentation for deceased patients is properly completed, maintained, and filed.
- Coordinate and assist with post mortem examinations together with pathologists and medical officers.
- Liaise with next of kin regarding identification, collection, and release procedures for deceased persons.
- Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, infection prevention, and safety standards are maintained within the mortuary premises at all times.
Requirements
- O’ Level Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a mortuary environment.
- Computer literacy.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally challenging situations professionally.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar environment.
