Key Responsibilities
- Translate the approved protocol into a detailed implementation plan, field schedule, team assignments, logistics plan and reporting calendar.
- Coordinate Four Regional Field Supervisors and 20 Data Collectors and maintain effective liaison with national and regional Ministry of Health teams and participating facilities.
- Lead standardisation training, tool pre-testing and competency checks covering the protocol, data-abstraction tool, data quality, confidentiality and urgent-clinical-flag procedures.
- Monitor implementation and productivity daily; resolve operational barriers, adjust deployments where necessary and keep fieldwork on schedule.
- Work with the principal investigator to oversee completeness and consistency checks, query resolution, spot-checks/re-abstraction, secure backup and the data-cleaning log.
- Ensure compliance with ethical approval, confidentiality undertakings, secure data handling, safeguarding requirements and the approved process for escalating urgent critical findings.
- Document and escalate protocol deviations, data-security incidents and unresolved technical or operational concerns to the Principal Investigator.
- Convene regular implementation meetings, prepare concise progress reports and support dataset finalisation, analysis, facility feedback, report writing and dissemination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, health sciences, health information, biostatistics or a related field; a relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-site health research, clinical audits, programme evaluations or large field-data-collection activities.
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with government, regional and health-facility stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of research ethics, confidentiality, data-quality assurance and electronic data-collection processes.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills; experience with CMIS/APMR and statistical software will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of HIV programmes and paediatric/adolescent HIV treatment and monitoring is strongly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, planning, communication, problem-solving and technical-report-writing skills; ability to work in English and siSwati and travel nationally.
